Oxi, Dark, and Super Duper Dark are all oxidizing oils. They patina the wood over time, and give more depth and a darker tone, the dark level depending on oxidation, natural sugars, and tannins content within the piece of wood. Oxi Oil is a translucent oil. Odie’s Dark Oil and the Super Duper Dark Oil are made out of darker ingredients and may change the color of the wood by maybe a shade, but also add contrast to the grain. The Super Duper Dark Oil is a thinner formulation similar to Danish oil in the application and goes very well with pigments, even more with darker colored pigments, and is mostly recommended for refinishing a product. The Dark Oil has the same benefits as the Universal Oil but gives an extra patina and depth when applied, it helps get an older look to the wood, and gives a deeper, more characteristic color.
